Importrix is a Shopify app that imports products from the Amazon Associates program into a merchant's Shopify store and keeps their prices up to date. It is operated by JTPL, a company registered in India ("JTPL", "we", "us"). This policy explains what data Importrix collects when a merchant installs and uses the app, and when anyone visits importrix.com, what we do with that data, and how it is deleted.
1. Data we collect
From Shopify, when you install the app
- Your store's myshopify.com domain.
- An access token that lets Importrix call the Shopify Admin API for your store, and the list of permissions (scopes) you approved.
- The dates you installed and uninstalled the app.
- Your Importrix subscription plan and its status, as reported by Shopify.
- Your store's currency, so we can warn you when it differs from your Amazon marketplace's currency.
When you open Importrix in your Shopify admin, Shopify sends us a short-lived session token that identifies your store and the staff account using the app. We use it only to confirm the request comes from your store. We do not store staff names, email addresses or account IDs.
What you enter in the app
- Your Amazon Associates / Creators API credentials: Credential ID, Credential Secret and Associate Tag, and the Amazon marketplace you choose.
- App settings, such as your daily sync time and the product metafield used for the Amazon link.
- The Amazon product IDs (ASINs) you import.
Created while the app works
- For each imported product: its ASIN, Shopify product ID, title, Amazon price, variant prices, import status and any error message.
- A history of price syncs: when each ran and how many products were checked, updated or failed.
- Records of the webhooks Shopify sends us (their ID, topic and store domain), so each is handled once.
- Short-lived server logs containing store domains and technical details, used to fix problems.
What we do not collect
Importrix does not read or store your customers' personal data: no names, email addresses, addresses, orders or payment details. The app does not request access to orders or customers. The "Buy on Amazon" button that Importrix can add to your product pages only shows a link. It sets no cookies and does no tracking. When a shopper clicks that link, Amazon's own privacy notice applies on Amazon's site.
On importrix.com
The website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It loads the Inter font from Google Fonts, so your browser sends its IP address to Google when you visit. If you give us your email address (for example, to join the waitlist), we use it only to contact you about access to Importrix, and we will delete it if you ask.
2. How we use data
- To import products you choose into your Shopify store and keep their prices in sync with Amazon.
- To check that your store has an active Importrix subscription.
- To provide support, investigate errors and keep the service secure.
We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of merchants or shoppers.
3. Who we share data with
We share data only with the services Importrix needs to work:
- Shopify: to create and update products in your store and to read your subscription.
- Amazon: your credentials and the ASINs you import are sent to Amazon's API to fetch product details and prices.
- Cloudflare: carries encrypted traffic between the internet and our servers.
We may also disclose data if Indian law or a valid legal order requires it. If JTPL or Importrix is ever sold or merged, data would move to the new owner under this policy, and we would tell you first.
4. Where data is stored and how it is protected
Importrix runs on servers operated by JTPL in India. All traffic uses HTTPS. Shopify access tokens and your Amazon Credential Secret are encrypted in our database (AES-256-GCM). Only authorised JTPL staff can open the admin tools, and every staff login needs a password and two-factor authentication.
5. How long we keep data, and deletion
- While the app is installed, we keep the data above so the app can work.
- When you uninstall, we delete your store's access token immediately and stop all syncing.
- 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify tells us to erase your store's data, and we permanently delete everything linked to your store: settings, Amazon credentials, products and sync history.
- Backups are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted, so deleted data can remain in a backup for up to 14 days.
Uninstalling or removing Importrix does not delete the products it created in your Shopify store. They are your products, and you can edit or delete them in Shopify.
We respond to Shopify's privacy requests about customers, but because Importrix stores no customer data, there is nothing for those requests to export or erase.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about your store, to correct it, or to delete it at any time, including before you uninstall. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also withdraw consent and raise a grievance with us. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We answer requests within 30 days.
7. Children
Importrix is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not meant for anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your store's data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
